Hundreds of people packed onto the sidewalk and the street in front of the Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver on Friday night to remember Cory Monteith.
The 31-year-old actor, best known for his role on the hit TV show Glee, was found dead in the hotel last Saturday afternoon.
Vigils were planned in Vancouver and Victoria to remember the star, not for the way he died, but to celebrate his life.
Monteith’s cousin, Richard, attended the vigil in Vancouver and said he has received hundreds of emails from fans of Cory just in the past couple of days alone.
“It’s just such a positive force of people,” he said. “I’m honoured to stand here as a fan and not as family, but as a fan. It means alot.”
