It’s official – the Russian Rocket’s jersey is heading to the rafters.
The Vancouver Canucks announced that Pavel Bure, who played for the team from 1991 to 1998, will have his number 10 jersey retired by the team during the 2013-2014 National Hockey League season. No date for the jersey raising has been announced.
The team made the announcement at its “Summer Summit” today, where they took questions from season ticket holders’ questions about the upcoming season. At the end of meeting, Bure was brought out by General Manager Mike Gillis, and the announcement was made.
“I haven’t really thought about all that, it’s been a good year,” said Bure in a press release issued by the team.
