TORONTO – Whoopi Goldberg and Ving Rhames will spend a month in Toronto starring in Lifetime’s A Day Late and a Dollar Short.
Goldberg, 57, and Rhames, 54, are scheduled to start work on the TV movie on Aug. 8.
Based on the novel by Terry McMillan (Waiting to Exhale), A Day Late tells the story of mother-of-four Viola Price (Goldberg), who is determined to bring peace to her divided family when she learns that her next asthma attack is likely to be her last.
Goldberg, who is also executive producer of the project, starred in another adaptation of a McMillan book, the 1998 feature film How Stella Got Her Groove Back.
Rhames, who will play Goldberg’s husband, previously worked in Toronto on the short-lived 2009 reboot of Kojak.
Additional casting details have not been revealed.
