TORONTO — The wildly popular video game World of Warcraft is being adapted for the big screen in British Columbia.
A film with the working title Conflagration is set to go into production in mid-January at the Canadian Motion Picture Park in Burnaby.
The Warcraft movie will be directed by Duncan Jones, who made 2011’s Source Code with Jake Gyllenhaal in Montreal.
Jones is the son of British singer David Bowie.
Casting is underway.
The multi-player role-playing online game is the most successful of its kind, with more than 7 million subscribers. It has spawned comic books, board games, collectibles and novels.
